BARBARIC LAD (4) resumed from a short spell at Sale over 1200m and ran well behind the smart Verdoux, beaten under a length in second. He's run some good races against the likes of Broadsiding as a two-year-old and looks well placed to 1400m here. UNTAPPED (8) resumed with a soft maiden win over 1200m at this track, coming off nearly a year's spell there. Up to 1400m should only see him improve further and he can go on with the job. RICH LOVER (2) won in this grade last time at each way odds at Cranbourne and a repeat of that has him in the mix. DOM (6) started $3.20 first up at Flemington in a decent race, pulling up with excuses after struggling. He has good ability on his day and is still very lightly raced. Can bounce back.
