STATUARIO (2) failed in the Australian Guineas then the appreciated the step up in trip and removal of blinkers when a closing third in the 204om Alister Clark at Moonee Valley a fortnight ago. Rock hard fit and looking for this sort of trip. POLITELY DUN (3) finished three lengths behind Statuario when they clashed at the Valley recently. That came on the back of some plain efforts at Sandown over shorter journeys. One-pacer who should enjoy getting to this distance for the first time. RAPID CHEVAL (10) finished a long way back in the Alister Clark but was only second-up from a spell. Question mark at the trip but should improve with some racing under the belt. RED ACES (1) has not recaptured the form that saw him win the Group 2 Vase at Moonee Valley in the Spring. Worth one more chance in a shallow race. Tasmanian Derby placegetter KICKING KING (4) will get the trip and is next in line.
