PURE ALPHA (3) chased hard and might have finished a fraction closer but for a squeeze near the line when third over 1200m here last start, his first run in six months. Has raced second-up twice and won them both over today's trip. Everything looks perfect except the horror draw. PARIAH PEARL (11) returned with an arrogant first-up win over this distance at Pakenham sixteen days ago, leading from the outset and putting a gap on her rivals. Up in grade today but gets some weight relief. Expect she will hold the good form. RIVERINA POWER (5) has been freshened up since a modest effort in a BM84 at Flemington five weeks ago. Big drop in grade so from gate one over her pet trip she warrants serious consideration. SUPERNIMA (13) has returned in good order this prep. Maps nicely just behind the speed and will be peaking at the third run back. GRID GIRL (9) boasts an impressive record at the trip. Cannot be left out of exotics.
